The Karachi Port handled 123,573 tonnes of liquid import cargo including 85,945 tonnes of import 37,628 tonnes of export cargo and 5,429 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 85,945 tonnes comprised of 41,326 tonnes of containerised cargo; 774 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,470 tonnes of canola; 13,920 tonnes of coal; 423 tonnes of MAP and 24,052 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 37,628 tonnes comprised of 29,796 tonnes of containerised cargo; 848 tonnes of bulk cargo; 4,602 tonnes of cement and 2,382 tonnes of rice. Five ships namely Al-Mariyah, LTC Calvin P. Titus, Power Ranger, Wehr Nienstedten and Arnis sailed out to sea during the reported period. Four vessels viz Arnis, Praia, Ocean Island and Tan Binh 36 are currently at the berths.

Two ships namely Atrium and BBC Ohio expected to sail on Wednesday, while two vessels viz Bunga Raya Lima and Praia are expected to sail on Thursday. Four vessels viz Hyundai Duke, Kota Handal, Michalisk and Queen Arrow-II due to arrive on Wednesday, while three ships namely Rising Om, Concord and Vinh Thuan are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 44,670 tonnes of cargo includes 29,663 tonnes of import 15,007 tonnes of export cargo and 2,025 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 29,663 tonnes includes 3,600 tonnes of palm oil; 4,766 tonnes of chemicals; 7,392 tonnes of coal and 13,905 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 15,007 tonnes includes 1,060 tonnes of rice; 771 tonnes of cement and 13,176 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Nedlloyed Asia, MT Bow Octavia and MT Antarctic sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another vessel MV Mara is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

Eight vessels viz CV Nedlloyed Asia, MV Zenobia, MV Oriental Bridge, MV Leopard-B, MT Bow Octavia, MT Antarctic, MT ST Kitts and MV Mara are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, palm oil, chemicals, LPG and coal respectively during last 24 hours. A total number of three ships namely ACX Salvia, Royal Emerald and Chemstar King carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.

Four vessels viz CV ACX Salvia, CV CMA CGM Onyx, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Royal Emerald carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday. MV Angelia scheduled to load cement due to arrive on Wednesday, while three more container vessels viz HS Beethven, Lahore Express and Hanjin Los Angels are due to arrive on Thursday.
